6 day 6 night High Country horsemanship and stock work ride.
On arrival you will drive through the gates passing the old cattle yards and past the horses into Stock Yard Creek Homestead. Here you will be staying for 3 nights in quaint and cosy accommodation, and then for the next 2 days you will have local high country horseman Daryl Crowe, working with you and your horse. Daryl has been conducting horsemanship clinics for over 20 years. Traveling to everywhere and anywhere where there has been a group of people wanting to further their knowledge, skills and capabilities with their horsemanship. .... “Horsemanship to me is anything that involves a person, either around or on their horse, looking like they have some sort of mutual agreement or understanding as opposed to it looking like a wrestling match“. Daryl will be on hand both in a clinic style environment and also out on the trail and during our stock work.
On the 3rd day of riding we pack up and ride up the Howqua River stoping at Ritchies Hut for lunch, a remote hut on the riverbank, before arriving into Pikes Flat to camp for the night. On our 4th 5th and 6th day you will be on the mountain tops around the spectacular Mt Stirling and visiting the iconic Craig's Hut before riding back down the Delatite River on the final day.
